Audi A2 engine light

Featured Replies

Hi guys, my brother has bought a 2002 Audi A2 1.4 SE petrol which he picked up today. The garage advised on viewing that the engine light was on and it was because it needed a new lambda sensor. Looking through the history I saw that it has a new one in 2006 so I queried. The garage advised it has 2 and the previous owner had only had one done. He picked it up today and halfway home the light came back on. He took it back and they cleared it saying the car was just getting back to normal. It drives spot on so a bit strange. It stayed off until about 8pm tonight and then came back on. Im going to read the fault codes with torque tomorrow but has anyone any ideas what it could be?

i would just say scan it for codes anyway mate, your going the right way about it

Just throw the engine away and fit a 1.8T :D

Out of interest..would a 1.8t fit in the A2??

Lupo boys can fit it so I don't see why not lol

Sent from my Galaxy S2 not a Crapple!

Try some Tesco Momentum 99 RON or even Shell or Sainsbury super unleaded in for a few tanks.

It only needs a hic-up to set off the Engine Lights, (Pinking)

sometimes it needs new Spark Plugs, plug leads or similar wiped clean and some WD 40 or other water dispesent and stop that slight mis-fire when cold.

Thats the cheap checks.

Also Inline Fuel Filter changed if there is one. (moisture)

Lambda at Cat or Manifold or wires connection to those.

Plugs & Leads

Fuel & nice new fuel if it has sat for any time, (Unleaded goes off & condensation in the tank.

My Picanto & my Jimny run perfectly but from time to time they do like to get the engine light reset.

As much as i like Supermarket fuel for much cheapness, my Automtics do like full fat Shell, 95 RON, then they never show a light.

They do not benefit from Super Unleaded tho.

EDIT PS

Forgot, is the Air Filter nice and clean and 'DRY',??

recent rain and wading through puddles!!!

Ok. 2 fault codes..camshaft postion sensor a. P0341. And p0401 exhaust gas recirculation.

Have cleared them with the hope that it took 50 miles before they came back on last time so this time they will be ok.
