Cruise control kit

Featured Replies

I am looking at getting cruise control fitted to my Octy.

On ebay the kits all seem to be for cars upto 2009. One of the listings states that cars after this date require a different kit but i can't seem to find one. Can anyone point me in the direction of a suitable kit please.

Thank you

My recommendation would be to message this guy, he's done loads of conversions for members without any issue!

You can get a kit from Skoda but you still need to know if your car has a suitable controller.

Thanks for that. I tried clicking on the link but it is asking me for a login.

How do i find this out? I spoke to a local VAG independent whom i have used previously. They are pretty sure i will be ok as the car is very new.

I was going to get a kit then get them to fit it. I would do it myself then get it coded but don't fancy messing with airbags.

The only way is by getting the part number of your control unit off the car and checking on the list on ross tech

I don't know when they changed it, but newer card now have a much more expensive combined indicator/wiper stalks.

I didn't fancy messing with airbags until last week when I fitted CC. Left the car for an hour with battery disconnected, followed Skoda advice about disconnecting both terminals and had no problems at all.

If your controller ends in 'BC' the list on Ross Tech is wrong. Early 035 & 036 (HW) units accept CC (but not MFSW) which contradicts Ross Tech. They should really say some BC units won't accept CC.

MFSW upgrade next...

there are 2 new types of stalk so find out which one you have first.

also some need other parts changing like the steering lock cylinder

You may also need to fit a wire

Sorry, my bad you need to be a member to view other member profiles. I would join though as the MK5 and Octy 2 are the same platform and the guys on that forum are very knowledgeable.

Yeah I would, we are idiots over here...lol

Thanks for all the advice guys. Where do i check to see if my controller is compatible with CC?

Oops, sorry Tech, not meant that way, it's just that Eddie (the member in the link) supplies and fits CC for £90 and has answered (correctly) a multitude of technical questions for me and others. Obviously Briskoda has its fair share of experts who drive better cars as well!

That sounds like a right bargain. Will join up and ask the guy. Thanks again.

I'm a member on here too

I might have a Golf at the minute but when I do eventually change cars the Octavia Vrs is on the short list

Hi,

I have remapped 9/2005 Octy Sport tdi and want to get it retro fitted with cruise control but im confused as to what stalk I require and how straight forward it is to do. I have noticed a step by step how to on here but have no idea how to find out if my car is set up ready for it. I've read that all vag ecu's are capable of cruise even if the car hasn't got it fitted, so do I need to buy the wire also and what part number is the stalk please?

Matt.

Is this the correct part number 1K0953513G?

1K0953513G stalk is the correct one for the Octy 2 however according to ross tec your car is midline so should allow cruise and on board computer however it does say notes #1 saying depending on hardware the controll module may have to be changed for cruise controll retro fit just wait for Eddie-nl he should know better
