DSG Gearbox Remap

Featured Replies

Is it possible just to remap the DSG gearbox. I find that my Octavia Vrs Tsi Vrs with the DGS Box changes up a bit early when driving in town. It could do with holding on to the lower gears a bit longer. Anyone else notice this.

Yup, Revo do one

^^^^ what he said

Revo will probably claim it will give you another 100bhp, on their independent rollers of course

TBH in D it just lets you hold onto the gear longer with the Revo map, may as well put it in sport mod. The biggest problem is the delay when you put your foot down in D for, standing starts, roundabouts, on/off gas etc.

Thanks Guys.

I've been thinking (dangerous I know) but if the gears are held longer in the lower rev range will this affect the top rev range. In sport the gear changes up just into the red line, will a remapped box go further into the red than it should before it changes.

you could just leave it in sports mode, that holds on to the gears a litter longer..

What he said........and me earlier.

If you 'force' it to holding gears for longer (ie go for a longish harsh drive) it will then 'learn' to leave it in gears for longer. I find that if i am on a long journey for example when i went to the Lake District for a week and Germany the other week that if you are going up and down a lot of hills the gear change gets ridiculously early. I then have to 'teach' it to go back to normal.

This is just my experience though but do experience a large element of learning with them.

The Revo map raises the rev limit of the box, but if your engine map is standard it'll still run into the limiter before the box does anyway. Or so Revo say!

Just use the paddles Andy

Or drive it differently and it'll learn your way of driving. Driving it like you stole it is expensive in fuel terms though !

Shark do a DSG map but they recommend having their stage 1 map as well.

I'm planning to get both once I've got the car.

I've had both done, fully recommend.the gear changes are higher,im going to have mine set back to what they were, but the gearbox is smoother and better inD,S and manual,i do mostly short journeys so my fuel consumption went up slightly, also had DPF delete with stage 1,its very very quick now,can fully recommend shark very helpful, friendly and professional

AFAIK it also raises the torque limit of the box.
