Mercedes C-Class AMG Sport Plus CDi

Featured Replies

For some reason i have been drawn to Merc's over the last couple of weeks and can get a C250 AMG Sport Plus with Map Pilot for £27.5k off drivethedeal off a RRP of £33k.

Just wondering what peoples thoughts and experiences are on the C-class and also this engine (2.1 diesel, 204bhp twin turbo). Reliability, service costs etc etc.

Just like the look of it for the moment and need to investigate further!

Mercedes have just announced some updates for the C. It says its available to order now, but it might be worth waiting a month to be sure:

Cheers - it seems to be the new 'spec' that is on DtD and on the merc website looking at that article

I recently drove one, as was looking at a very tempting deal on it that was even better than you'd mentioned above.

Drove it and the auto box is horrible attached to the 4 pot engines and guessing all over the place. Lady E will know how it fares on teh 6 pots.

The 4 pot is also noisy, even compared to the 2.0 TDI (IMHO)

Having driven a 325d only 30minutes before hand the handling (even with the AMG sports suspension) was truely horrible.

Worse even (IMHO) than an octy that's just about to have the console bushes replaced.

It's an armchair, where you basically point it and go and would make a good m/way cruiser.

The red seats belts (you can remove these) and huge alloys are just silly, but you do get Xenons as standard and the cost of these alone is more than the £1k cost to go from sport to sport plus.

Seats are comfortable, but not that supportive in the one I drove. The leather isn't real leather, unless you pay another large amount of cash for that.

If the dealer had agreed to match the price I had, I'd have had one for three years. As it was they came to about 3.5k off RRP and tried to charge me for options that were on the stock car they wanted to shift, that I didn't want.

Looking back, I'm very glad I didn't buy one, as the Octy is a better driving car, even at it's age and while the merc is comfortable, if I want to spend that money, I'd take a 3 series every day of the week.
