I'm just running a base map for the turbo at the moment peaks at 1bar, I reckon around 200ish, need injectors, and Fmic before I go for the full fat map

OP

Can I suggest taking a photo of your engine see folks can see the setup

Can be so many different factors at play

By you mean by 'lazy' you mean the engine feels really flat and unresponsive upto 4rpm, then the turbo spools kicks ?

Try having an engine with a lift cam!

My old vvtl-i engine didnt kick over until 6.25k rpm

wondering a little off topic ...

I'm guessing this dual profile system was designed to try to get urban fuel economy ?

Always thought it odd that Lotus used these (+ supercharger), can they be tinkered with to permanently engage the high profile cams ?

Otherwise would have thought it would 'fight' the supercharger

Well i had the lotus engine they do 2 varients the 189bhp non supercharged version and the 212bhp supercharged one! The lift cam can be engaged lower but requires a standalone ecu!

The supercharged pulleys can be changed to provide around 260bhp! Which will fly due to the lotus's low kerb weight

Awesome engine preferred it to honda's v-tec, more brutal almost snapped you neck off when u hit lift

Yes lazy as in flat ive tried differant driving styles loading it up to 2500 rmp etc till 3000 rpm and it doesnt wanna know

Get a boost guage!

My stock ko3s is lazy on pickup too and doesnt hit peak boost of 21 psi until nearly 3.5k

U need a guage to know exactly whats going on

How did the car drive before the new setup ?

- don't think they suffer from lag :giggle:

OP have you got the paperwork for the turbo and it's internals?

who did the work?

there appears to be misunderstanding about 'lag' 'spool' and 'peak boost'.

Forgot to mention it wont boost more than 14psi no matter how much load on the actuator and thats brand new turbosmart

Mines got a forge actuator on it? How long ago did you buy it? Been looking today and mine starts around 3300rpm it's doing half a bar, then holding a bar by 4k

April this year i bought it

April this year i bought it

Strange it has a different actuator to mine, mine was only brought feb time, what spec one did you go for as when I got mine they did stage1,2 and 3 versions, I opted for stage 2 spec
