Hiya (fun owner)

Featured Replies

Thought I'd say hi.

Got me a Felly Fun and have been swearing at it fixing things with a mates help to try and get an MOT on it!

Here is a pic of it a few weeks ago:

Question..

Is this ok for the engine it has?

I need a new thermostat housing and after failing on a few parts to get the right bits (exhaust rear / rear shocks - both of which were advertised as for Pickup!) I thought I'd ask!

Thanks

Yeah looks good, very common fault that. Nice to see a Fun being kept alive, keep on it.

^ +1. Hi & welcome to a fellow Funster! I've had the same problems at times with parts. My local VW specialist took 3 attempts to get/fit the right rear box. Yours certainly has a distinctive look and it's always great to see different Funs appearing. There are a few fellow owners on Brisky so plenty of help & solidarity. Look forward to keeping in touch

I like your rims... ;) Good luck with new car.

Welcome to the forum.

Have always have always had a soft spot for the Fun.

Love the wheels!

Well the fun is back from the garage and well its not good... Not much left of the sills and the skirts broke taking them off to get to the gap underneath...

There are a lot of things wrong with it so I think I'll break it / sell it as I cant afford the welding to get it sorted on top of the other things I need to get fixed..

(and I cant find anywhere with sills so it would all be custom fabbed..)

:(

Sadly it the way most of them are going now, rot and parts supply is becoming an issue.

Even for Felicia in general now, a lot of parts are now obsolete from Skoda.

Sorry to hear that but as Tech1e says many appear to be corroding out + the dreaded wear/tear. I don't like hearing of the potential demise of another Fun but equally appreciate it come's down to a question of economics. All the best mate, perhaps someone out there may want to take it on as a project?

i would take that on as a project and keep a fun truck alive

Big up homeboy! Welcome to the Felicia k-k-krew! [Which has it's very own Fun crew within it.] To look on the outside of it, I'd wonder what it might ever fail it's MOT on. Still, my sills are have pretty much disintegrated where I and other people have had the trolley jack on it numerous times (GAH! why no other jacking points?!?!). Either way I wouldn't mind a Fun myself, but there's certainly nothing Fun about the price of them...

Crying shame to break it though :( But there we go, essentially a VW car with Czech bodywork to kill it off with rust :/

Hi ya Jonesy92. It sure would be a shame to break her but there appears to be some interest in the project option  .

Looking at various trading points like ebay etc, I'm not sure they're fetching as higher prices as people may think. It remains a contained market and the one's around the 2k mark don't seem to be particularly going anywhere. Cheers mate, look forward to keeping in touch. Rob ;)

Always

Didn' t know that some parts were no longer available. I mostly repair mine with second hand parts.

Anyway, a real shame that this Felicia will not be repaired anymore, but corrosion is a major problem on Felicia's.

hi sad if u do break it but if u do let us know might be interested in bits thanks . buy the way has it been lowered and how ??

Luckily many of the Fun specific parts should fetch a nice price when broken up. I think the tail gates are quite sought after.

If you have the space, a second hand mig welder, a bottle of gas, and some wire - and you could get practising welding and give it a go yourself. This forum http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/index.php has a mine of useful information to get you going.

got a lovely little felicia for swaps don't break it keep it alive mate

^ Seems to be a few more Funs appearing on ebay etc listed for spares/repairs, so expanding choice by looks of it. Useful to have a donor car I'd imagine ;)

^^ There's one in the "For Sale" forum ;) ;)

Although it's working, so not spares/repairs. :) :)

Should have been RainbowFire all along. Seems I mis-spelt when I signed up. I did email admin, but evidently the mail "got lost". So, on joining Freedom, it was the first thing to correct, before sticking TB4 up for sale ;)

Ah I see, welcome to freedom mate :hi:

Oooh blimey! Been off for a few weeks, come back and there is a ton of updates to this thread!

My fun is lowered - on the lowering springs kit from ebay (30mm-ish) and imho looks good and yet still has some suspension travel and isnt chopped springs!

Its for sale on ebay at the moment! (been asked a few times if I will break it and at the moment I wont as I'd like the room back soonish!)

If I do I will let briskoda know! thanks :)
