What is this part called?

Featured Replies

Can anyone help me in knowing what this part is?? is it to trap oil vapor? is it to be changed over time?

There is some oil residue under it on the inner body panel, that made me worry a bit...

That's a charcoal canister. It filters fuel vapour from the tank before being recycled.

Many thanks...

If there is some oil residue on & under it, what does that mean? and are you supposed to change this part?

?Also is it for fuel vapor or oil vapor?

Hi,

It's for fuel vapor, it's not a service schedule part, I just happen to have replaced mine due to the engine light coming on and this being the culprit, £75 with new breather pipe from TPS fitted myself in 10mins. Technician said that they rarely fail! Just my luck then.
