Camshaft position sensor - P0343

Featured Replies

Hi folks.

Has anyone had this error and tried cleaning the sensor body if its dirty, or is it pretty much a quick sensor swap with a new one? Sometimes struggles to start and just turns over.

Cheers,

Mine has this as an intermittent fault, can be a few days or every other journey. Never had trouble starting though

Does the rev counter give a speed when you crank the engine but it doesn't start?

Not from what I can tell. The car has never cut out on the move, just when starting on occasion this occurs.

I couldnt totally remove the cambelt cover but managed to get to it. Only 2 10mm bolts holding it on.

Many many of you have trouble getting out and putting back in the cambelt cover. It's so simple...you just have to tilt it to the back (of the car) and insert it.

On the TT forums are pages and pages with that

I think I'll make a video

Sounds good. Tried that direction and just didnt seem to be enough clearance to remove it.

Oops, got stuck in traffic and engine cut out. Had to get towed home. New sensor in the post awaiting fitment!
