DR400G Drive Recorder can use 32Gb Micro SD yes?... YES?!

Featured Replies

I damn well hope so.

With my frequent reformatting needed (touch wood not done it for a few days now... "Check SD card" AAARRRRGH! :D) I have purchased a class 10 32gb Micro SD card from play.com for 15.99 :D In theory I should be able to record twice as much footage, as long as the camera realises it is using a card which is twice the size.

It should work, bought one too but is still somewhere flying around somewhere between asia and holland. And I also have a 32gb micro SD card ready to be used with the DR400.

Good to know thanks. Looks like 32 is the max, so if ever I see bigger I'm not going to be tempted to buy it.

I read somewhere that a few 64GB cards will work in devices that are not supposed to read SDXC cards.

I picked up some 32GB cars from Play, they werent very good, 1 died the first time I tried it and the other is slower than a class 4 2BG card.

On another note, what is the best way to join clips together?

I use windows movie maker, then try and adjust the end of each clip to match it to the start of the next clip as well as I can. Still often get a little jump. Mine records in 3 minute clips now, so less to do thankfully on a long clip.

I am running 32gb micro SD cars in both my front and back BlackVue 400 devices. No issues so far after four months of (nearly) daily use.

Regards stitching the clips together, you need any fairly basic video editing software as all you need to do is chop the last four or five seconds off then put them in one sequence.

Each clip has an overlap of four (or five, can't remember right now) seconds as if you have an accident it's not right on the join where one clip starts and another ends.

I stitched my clips together for this track day video: (on 32gb card)

This was one minute clips and hardly any jumps where they were joined.

The trick is to work out how much overlap the camera automatically adds.

I've also had a 32Gb from the GB in Jan and have had no issues.

I too have only ever used 32GB cards in mine.

You do need to reformat them occasionally. That generally gets rid of the check SD card error.

DR400 was delivered and already running with a 32Gb Samsung micro SD card.

Bargain at 150€ new and boxed, directly from Korea
