Led headlights

Featured Replies

As per the title really, has anyone tried led headlight bulbs?? ordered some the other day just cause i was curious.

Like the idea of these, but heard even the best ones dont chuck out enough light.

Let us know how you get on though.

we had someone come in work with one headlight LED one normal so was great to see the difference looked like a propper HID kit really bright and a good white, but i never found out the make of the bulb unfortunately :(

Someone always says it but... I thought led headlights are illegal becauae of the beam they put out?

Some brand new mercs have LED headlights

Moments like this, Google is your best friend ........ http://content.usato.../1#.UCTDgKOSqM8

Nope, that are the same as HID's though. Suppose to have washers and self levellers (factory fit anyway). You can get them on high end cars already. God know what headlight you'd have to put them in though! Lol

As far as I'm aware, the lighting technology doesn't really matter, the output and beam just have to conform to requirements. Of course, if you drop an LED or HID in to a halogen headlight/enclosure reflector, the beam will not conform and you'll probably be dazzling everyone else (this is why OEM Xenons usually have different optics in the headlight). Systems beyond a certain output are required to have self-levelling and washers on newer vehicles (that's generally HIDs and LEDs).

I tried LED headlights and couldn't see a fu**ing thing!
