Longer seat runners needed

Featured Replies

I am slowly getting over hip replacement surgery and hopefully will soon get the go-ahead to resume driving ( CR 170 VrS DSG). To protect the new hip (left), I have to get in/out of the car by sliding the seat fully back and sliding in bum first and then swinging the legs through.

My problem is that I am 6'6" tall, with long legs and I can't get far enough back. So, I need to be able to push my seat back until it touches the back seat.

Any one know if moving/ replacing the seat runners is doable?

I'm guessing that if you did that, the seat would be past/behind the B Pillar so you'd actually find it more difficult getting in and out anyway?

Dunno - hungover right now so struggling to think the process through properly

The seat runners are all part of the seat so will not be interchangeable anyway.

Yup. Recently took mine out to remove the carpet and there's four bolts on each seat runner which bolt it straight into the floor pan. All movement is done via the runners which are part of the seat, there's nothing on the floor at all.

You could try to get some custom made to fit onto the seat, I guess.
