I've managed to get my hands on a satnav unit mfd1 from a 2003 golf, the same as the superb one. problem is i have no disc for it, so no maps etc...

The model and numbers are as follows

VW MFD - 3B0 035 191 A

RNS-MFD

3B0 035 191 A

Would somebody possibly be able to help me out or put me in the right direction for the map cd?

Possibly, i know im going to sound like a cheap skate but i've spent a small fortune lately getting the timing chain issue sorted so hoping for a cheaper alternative if possible :/

That's for a colombus, newer headunit found in mk2 Octavia's etc. do you know if it needs to be a certain disc? Mated to the unit? Or can it be any old disc with maps on? (obviously for a mfd)

If you are after a DX cd for sat nav maps I have a spare 2008 one?

Im not 100% sure which disc i need, looking through ebay most of them are for 2005+ cars. Thats why i've made this thread for anyone that owns the factory satnav to possibly provide part numbers or say which disc they have or used.

you can use any disc for a dx unit im using a mercedes benz one in mine as some use the dx sat nav erm i have a feeling some saab's or alfa's use them too but i could be very wrong

I have a factory fit one. It has a 2003 cd in it. I can check after work about any such PNs or distinguishable features.

I'm keen to buy an updated one. And by the looks of the way the Comand site works, any DX CD will work. But £125?? You're having a laugh!

I've just found out that the cd has to stay in the satnav at all times... If you were to buy a new cd, Would you be interested in selling me your old one? (pm me if thats ok)

Im not sure what to do now really, i wasn't expecting the cds to cost so much! Was thinking people would be selling them for a couple of quid or maybe copies or somthing?!

Im going to try my local vag scrap yard, see if they have one lieing around, might get lucky and find a disc in a glovebox or somthing.

Well if you wanted a 2005 version i'd happily take your 2003 one of your hands so the 2005 update doesnt cost you much
