Buy a cheap eBay cold air take and put it on the end of that? Keeps the power and noise but also gets cooler intake so maybe more power?

I recently replaced my std filter with a K&N panel filter, easy fit, and a slight notice in power gain and mpg's  My car is running completely std apart from the filter and always on V Power

Regards

Just run the fully standard airbox with standard air filter. There's nothing wrong with it and it's not a restriction in the system. The standard filters are also cheap and easy to replace once a year. I used to run a K&N but got fed up of having to clean it, then dry it and re-oil the damn thing. All for no gains and extra stress.

i have a pipercross. makes no difference to performance or economy. you can buy it if u like

Anybody saying that changing the air filter alone without doing anything else, has managed to somehow increase either their power or economy, is either blinkered, or had a $h!tty blocked filter.

I've currently got a pipercross fitted. It didn't do anything (as was expected), and should be treated as disposable. I only fitted it, as I managed to get it cheaper than an OEM filter, but I will be using the OEM panels in the future.

lol have the induction pipe with a k&n, don't care if its lost me power the noise is soo nice lol

Sent from my Galaxy S2 not a Crapple!

Chances are you might see improvement with std or panel filter over the open cone as we all know those get heat soak which can zap performance.

NO-ONE currently has shown proof that aftermarket filters improve performance over the OE one
