Sump Plug

Featured Replies

Where ever the previous owner of my car had it serviced has kindly threaded the sump plug bolt for me.

With it being a alloy sump is it possible to helicoil it ?

Has anyone had any experience of sorting this ?

Would I be better just re-tapping it and using a bigger bolt/washer?

Thanks for any advice

i would go retap, and use alot of care on future changes, maybe even price up a sump

Mines the same.

It won't come out but doesn't leak so I just use a Pela oil extraction pump to do the oil changes.

I can get mine out at the moment so I think I'll have a go at tapping it,

does anyone know the specifications of the original bolt ?

Tapping it won't work, the hole will be too big.

Either helicoil or new sump.

Just replace the sump... there not overly expensive

Looks like its time for another call to TPS, they're beginning to know me on a first name basis which is never a good thing.
