Camshaft Position Sensor

Featured Replies

Has anyone changed one on a VRS ? Ive had a search but cant find anything.

Any tips?

Thanks

i changed mine a few weeks ago an it was easy as peas  just unclip the 2 catches that hold the top cambelt cover on and remove the cover.

as your looking at the top timing belt pulley (camshaft pulley) you will see the sensor bottom right of it, unbolt the bolt (10mm i think) but don't drop the bolt or it may be a faff to get it back out.

the wire from it goes along the front of the engine block left to right and just needs unplugging (it slides out of it's holder making unplugging easier)

once you have unplugged it you just need to thread it through the plastic timing belt cover but to do this you need to remove a rubber gromit which allows the sensor to go through the hole. nce it's removed just fit the new one in reverse start up and smile.

the sensor fits into place by a small lump on the back that aligns it ready for the bolt.

Thank you so much !

Hope its as easy as everyone says it is

So you don't need to do anything with VCDS its just plug and play ?

And it aligns itself ?

Yeah just plug an play an it all sorts itself or it did on mine, haven't bothered plugging it in to see tbh as all is good.

Did you have the cutting out on power and bad starting as that's what mine was doing, but now I've put new one on it starts first turn

:-)

Bad starting is the main thing, but I also think the relays bad which doesnt help,

but power delivery isnt smooth and its down on power,

today the EML came on so I think its dead now, were as before it was an "intermittent fault"

looking forward to getting it sorted now

Don't know what I'd do without this forum !!!

Is there anyway to give thanks or ?
