2 coolant sensors?

Featured Replies

As per my other thread,

my CEL light came on, and a check of the error codes led me to change the coolant sensor (the one around the back of the block - 1.9tdi).

Unfortunately this has not cured things, so I was thinking maybe a broken wire somewhere or similar.

I was talking to a Halfords spanner monkey today about the £49 aircon service offer and happened to mention my CEL issues.

He asked me if I had changed the front sensor as well? Said there are 2 and they work together.

Thru all the reading i've done on here, I can't recall seeing mention of a second sensor that could be faulty - is he talking out his erse or have I got another potential cause of my problem?

Cheers guys.

Two temp sensors, Fuel and coolant, mine went within 6 months of each other. ISTR the front one would be fuel...

I was a bit blasé about it so was ignoring the CEL "'cos I knew what it was...". That's why I had to make two visits to the garage within a week or so... ho-hum.
