Dileamma...been thinking of the new 0% offers.....1.8Tsi octy

Featured Replies

P/X ideas on a 1.8 TSI octy (was thinking vrs or 2.0 tdi but dont do the miles so the TSI looks really attractive with 0%)

The wifes 1.2 htp which is a good little car, is only 20k and only just serviced.

Probably only worth about £4k

I'd rather keep vrs but it is getting on (6 ys) compared to 3 yr old 1.2 and my dad seems to think this should go (but thats just his opinion.....)

The VRS still drives well and hard, certainly driveable and serviceable (driven many m/way style miles)...although its likely to need the more attention of the two cars in the long term.

Damn....decisions.....

How much could I get if I sold the vrs ? About £4k approx ?

I'd also put the stock wheels back on and probably sell the Spiders seperately (won't fit the new octy will they)

Its currently only an idea but with such strong offers from Skoda and 1.8Tsi being a cracking engine its difficult to ignore as an option - what does briskoda community think ?

I hate the white stripes by the way on the wifes car, barely want to drive it myself as it was meant to be a white roof vinyl job but went to crap. I might still remove them and get the roof done lol it looks chavvy hehe

She prefers the 1.2 more than the idea of driving my vrs though

Dilemma....opinions on what to do .....? It doesn't help, that Im a gemini .....

( PS anyone tell me how to register as a full member on here in case I need to advertise the vrs or this car, I haven't a clue where to look. Im not looking to sell any cars here so please no discussion on it. Thanks )

Just following up on the own post - the 1.8T is no longer available through the dealer network anyway - boo hoo

Now I'm not so certain on this idea at all (although I was originally contemplating the vrs (tdi) or 2.0 tdi 140)

but the idea of the 1.8T took over as FAR better value than anything else on overall value. (its not far off a vrs on performance and faster than the diesel vrs to 60).

The lowly 1.4T seems too much of a compromise, and no where near the torque of my current car or alternative diesel engine options.

I've got a pretty crap P/X valuation from parkers - so perhaps as its not troubling me too much I need to wind it in, stop the new car fever of summer, keep calm and carry on !
