Hi all,

Am new to the world of Skoda, have been an Audi man for 20yrs, with a short stint with VW in the middle. So am loyal to the marque.

Have just bought an '06 Octavia 2.0FSI, seems like a very good car.

Everyone that has a Skoda has nothing but high praise, so heres hoping.

I'm sure you'll be seeing more of me around, folks.

Just like to ammend my opening statement:

My Octavia FSI IS a very good car!

It doesn't quite have the build quality of my Audi (hush my mouth!), but I am blown away with its fuel consumption.

My 2.5Tdi A6 was my first foray in to diesel, and it was a heavy car, v6, auto, 4WD etc but my fuel consumption was always about 33mpg. But my Octo returned 47.7mpg to the coast the other night, I was amazed and she is quick too!

Can only marvel at the power a vRS must put out and at similar fuel figures. Would have gone for one, but its is mostly my wife who drives the car, and she has picked up a speeding ticket already!!
