Horrible Squeak

Featured Replies

I have found out at last what keeps squeaking when going over the slightest of bumps - the radiator - well the mountings anyway. It has been driving me mad even squeaks when you close the door.

so the next question is how to stop it, i was thinging of grease on the mountings?? anybody else had this problem? :thumbdwn:

Silicone .... Thats what I use to secure srews and stop the one or other bit to be noisy.

much better idea, thanks.

Mine went back to the dealers, which solved it for a couple of months. It's back now though, and another suggestion on here was to oil the four locating lugs on the radiator. A search for "Squeak" in the Octavia forum should reveal the exact advice.....

Theres a noise coming from the front of mine, although I though it might be ARB related I though it might be worth checking the rad, but come to think of it when I went from Full lock to Full lock today (in the dry) it made the same noise as it does coming off some ramps. So its probably not rad related, sorry for the rant :)

I have the same trouble on mine.........its quiet as a mouse driving but just getting in/out and shutting the boot or doors and it squeeks badly. Its under warrenty but my nearest dealer is about 25miles away so will wait for the first service to mention it.
