Yeti option in Australia

Featured Replies

I know the Yeti is a bit different here in Australia and I'm having a hell of a time working out the options. The Brochure is rubbish and I haven't met a sales person that has convinced me they know what they are talking about.

The Australia Brochure shows Fog Lights standard on the 103tdi but an option on the 77tsi. If the fog lights are the round lights at the inner corners of the main lights, I haven't seen a Yeti without fog lights yet so I dont know what the option is?

I would really like the off road button and its' features. Problem is the Brochure showes it as an option but every 103tdi + DSG I have seen has the button but the sales guys says it's not it the option list. So is it standard or is the button just there for looks?

Happy Days.

you're right, the fog lights are the big round ones next to the grille. Bit odd to suggest they're an option. And the off road button is not standard, it's fitted to 4x4 models but not the 2WD variety AFAIK

You really need someone familiar with the Aus-spec Yeti to answer. In the UK, only the base E spec does not have front fog lights, but since every single Yeti I have seen has the round lights inboard of the headlights, my guess would be that just the bulbs and switch would be missing. The same round lights also hold the daytime running lights if fitted.

In the UK, the off-road button is only fitted as standard to the top spec Elegance 4x4.

Go for an elegance and you'll get it all anyway.

Problem solved!!

I stand corrected on two points - betraying my lack of knowledge of base spec and 4x4 models

So, this made me go out and look. Well actually I was fitting my new Osram bulbs and suddenly thought of this thread.

My aye to has the DRLs and fog lamp light housings, so for all intents and purposes it looks like it has them, however, Skoda have gone to the trouble of blanking off the bulb holder and not bothering to fit the lights at all. I feel a little cheated as by looking at the car you'd assume they were real. :-(

Next question is, obviously, where can I get the lights that I caswap out so I actually do have fogs? Or is it not worth it, can bus nd all....

Yeti, not aye! Hate spell check!

My aye to has the DRLs...[snip]

I thought this was meant to be phonetic and wondered why you were asking about an Audi A2!!! Thanks for the correction :giggle:

The first thing to check is how they have blanked them off. Is it a simple blanking piece or a permanent fitment?

If the former, then remove and fit the bulbs.

But, is the wiring there?

Otherwise you will have to buy a complete new lighting unit, wiring loom and switch gear.

Looks like I have found a dealer that can order the vehicle I want. I'm dropping a deposit on Monday.

ETA, Mid January 2013.

Happy Days.
