1.6 SR cam sensor.. Common?

Featured Replies

Had a abit of a late night fishing session last night. When i got back to my car it took 3 attempts to start her up, car drove fine at low speeds threw a housing estate but once i cleared the housing estate and joined a dual carriageway(national speed limit) i gave it some beans in second gear soon as i hit 5000rpm it misfired to hell. I restarted the engine at some lights and it drove fine after that. As luck would have it my cheap ebay vag scanner arrived this morning to clear my airbag light and it bought up cam sensor. Probably explains my troubles last night. Its been fine this morning tho..

Get it changed, Itll catch you out. I broke down after the engine got too hot, just cut out.

Not sure how common on that engine but the 1.8T is very easy to change, 5-10 mins DIY.
