Anybody ever come across this before? I started the car tonite and the oil pressure light was flashing also the rev counter wasnt working. I turned it off and checked the oil...it was ok. I started the car again and the light was off and the rev counter working again!?? I did a search on the web and it has happend to a few old VW's and turned out to be the alternator? Im not sure how though although the output is down abit at 13.8V but still ok. Guess ill be checking the belt tension and cables tomorrow.

Old battery? If it's misbehaving it might cause some random things to happen.

Battery is holding an overnight charge of 12.46V, it hasnt happend again...strange.
