As the topic title says I may need insurance to do Private Hire work with my Octy, who would you recommend?

My private insurer (LV) and Skoda don't cover this.

Swinton do public and private hire insurance, I know a few mates who are with them.

I'm insured through tfp (aviva) have been with them 3yr now and had no problems.

I'm insured for public hire, but am sure they do private hire cover as well

Yeah A19 have been good for a few mates as well, but for me they were on another planet.

It makes you wonder sometimes how they even get the figures they come up with

I think all insurance companys are just milking it now mate as we just expect to pay a fortune anyway...ba*tards!

I switched from a company called wheels insurance to swinton last year. After a few phone calls they beat wheels by almost £100.00

I started off with swinton 8 years ago and switched to wheels after my premiums started slowly edging up. Their excuse was its the financial crisis all the insurance companies are suffering blah blah; I thought when you didn't claim your insurance goes down!

I've recently gone private hire so I'm expecting some cheap insurance when I renew next month.

If not I'll be switching back to wheels!

I am renewing my private hire octy the now, i was with Liverpool Victoria for all of last year and that was £1200 this time i am going with the taxi center in Glasgow that is £900 for a year

Ive had private hire and public hire insurance through cabshield for several years now, they always seem to be the cheapest, I get a quote from swinton everytime i renew and they are way out on price, and through personal experience they are slow to deal with claims.

No it can be expensive business when your just starting up, but it's one of the easiest business's to be in!
