Yeti air suspension to regain level car

Hi all

Whilst looking for a lift kit for the Yeti, I found this

Additional air springs

So if anybody wants to maintain ride height when laden, these will help. These are air springs.

You can also get 'helper springs from the same people, at a reduced cost.

Not interested my elf at the moment, but thought somebody out there might be.

ljp,

Nothing like.

Basically they are "helper" bags that you blow up to stop the tale end dropping when a weight is put on the back.

You would have to be exceeding the nose weight specified to get that much "droop" at the back!!

With the caravan hooked up at just over 80kg nose weight I doubt the back of mine has dropped much more than 20mm

would that be classed as 'air ride', and would they lower the vehicle aswel as give it increased ground clearance?

DO NOT mention 'air ride' in this forum if you know what's good for you! ;-)

they actually look like a good idea, a bit of 'oomph' to the help the spring, as it were. Also they give a 'better look', which is a plus. Seem easy to fit and would make a nice wee project IMO ;)

Same here, hardly budges when the 'van goes on, good ride when towing too.

I must say I've not seen my Yeti dragging it's back end along like I see on some cars with or without caravans.

Maybe it's because I don't overload it?

I'm not sure the Yeti needs these.

The nose weight permitted is roughly the weight of an light to average person......

I see some cars that have a van on the back, then a roof box, then an overflowing boot and then finally 4/5 people in the car. If you listen carefully you can here the car crying!

Can't be good for the suspension!

And they could be pulled over for exceeding the max vehicle train mass, which for my particular Yeti is 4,100 kg, but later models is less. (check the VIN plate by the drivers B pillar).
