Featured Replies

Part number 6q0 906 625 is the part number but what do the letters at the end mean?

I seen some with b for sale and some with g.

Thanks

they are the difference on the asz and blt engine and it is meant to be important you bet them right. but off the top of my heas i cant remember what is what sorry.

the one without is for 1.4tdi iirc, I still have one in the draw.... also iirc B and G are the ones for VRS but I cant remember where I noted the exact letters down.. maybe in an old thread? I had to change mine due to it making ticking fuzzy noises and it gave up every so often, putting car into limp mode.

Well mine got three faults and the only thing that links them is the vacuum box.

Unfortunately the vacuum box is a sealed unit, you cant get into it without permanently killing it. :hi:

So, best option is to either get a friend with a vrs and try his for test (not to forget to clear codes after swap), or find one in scrappy (or ebay), I paid I think £40-60 used.

Also worth noting is the bit that clips on with all the pipes on it. If this needs replacing it comes with all the vacuum pipes attahced. I recently replaced mine and was only £35 ish from the dealer.

Some of my pipes were perishing and also I had a couple of broken connectors.

If your anywhere near Shrewsbury I can swap mine to see if this is your problem I also have a Pd130 Ibiza one we can also try

I'd also offer the same but I think your engine will be a BLT and mine is an ASZ.

Mine is asz but i am in sheffield. Im looking at one on my lunch hour from scrappy and got mine to compare. If its not this i can always sell it on.

And checked my pipes they all seem ok.

Update got new vacuum box and still no better. Can all faults be cleared on vcds lite?

if your on limp you'll need to clear fault codes after you replaced box to test.

..and pass, I used to use Rosstech. Alternatively I think, there are phone apps to play with the codes now..?

Pretty sure the lite version will read and clear fault codes. It's just the adaptations that can't be done with it.
