scout seats

Featured Replies

Hi girls and boys I'm new to the forum and my first post is, how hard if possible to change out my Octavia scout seats to something more comfortable as I find they are so hard and not supportive enough.

Many thanks Nick Cook.

Just four bolts hold the seat & subframe, so if you're thinking of simply replacing with other similar mark octavia seats I wouldn't have thought you'd have an issue, as long as the same wiring blocks are all present.

The seats in the Scout are the same as those in other Octavia models just in a different trim (Oynx) so swapping them for another set won't be of any benefit.

The vRS seats offer more support but aren't any softer (I own both a vRS and a Scout).

It may be possible to fit some seats from another VW/Audi/Seat model but the rear bench is sure to be different so you'll have mismatched front and rear seats.

Its a bit late now but I'd have recommended a longer test drive in the Scout before buying.

The front seats off a Golf Mk5/6, Audi Mk2 S3 or Seat Leon Mk2 FR should all be fine if you are not bothered by odd back seats.

Ooh, I found the golf seats SO comfortable!! I get a sciatic pain in my left leg over long distance and only when driving, but I get none of that in my mate's car.

Does the scout have side air bags in the seat, Ive got one but cant check / remember. If yes it could be a bit more complicated so a bit more research may be needed. If you are swapping seats with air bags Ive been told its a good idea to disconect the battery, saves any possibility of firing an air bag during the change, not sure if its just another old wives tale but when I swapped mine on the Mk 1 I did it. You may find also the actual seats will fit but if from an Audi or VW etc the wiring to the air bags may be different

Note the Scout has different suspension so that will also effect how soft the ride is.

Ok thanks for advice. I have had the car for three years now, love it but not been a fan of the seats from when I bought it. I'll look to see if there are and airbags in the seat but I thought they where in the b post but not sure.
