Roof bars ?

Featured Replies

I've been thinking of getting roof bars and bike rack for fabia Vrs instead of having to put my seats down every time I want to take the bike out, I'm thinking of getting the thule ones just don't no wether to get the aero bars or the wing bars. If any one got any pics of there's can you post them up might help me decide :D

Hi I have the normal Thule bars with 591 bike carriers! They look quality in my opinion. However I don't have a picture of them on the car! Hoping to get out over the weekend so could take a picture then if this helps...

Thanks :)

^ Those are the square bars, right? I suppose going all aerodynamic doesn't matter too much when you acarrying a bike anyway.

Comes down to looks I suppose? And of course cost ;)

Yep they sure are the square ones :)

I didn't really want to be paying more than I did tbh and the aero rails were much more expensive plus the guy said the cycle rack wouldn't fit the aero rails. I imagine the Thule cycle carrier would be double in price!

Does the job fine, I'm very happy with it

I picked the square bars up for 20 quid second hand and modified a cheap halfords bike rack (had to re drill attachment holes), I got lucky with getting it all for under 30 quid, if your on a budget and not in a hurry it's worth waiting, of budget is no option i expect I would get the aero ones however for 30 quid I really can't fault them, even for double that price I probably still couldn't fault them!

^^ Thule bars? And what foot pack you using? :)

Mont blanc do a roof bar set that fixes onto the roof gutter and doesn't sit on the bodywork!!!

Worth looking into, bought for mine but not had to fit yet.

I'd like one of those bike carrier attachments. I already have a pair of bars for them to attach to (Skoda oem)

Below is a pic of mine with the Aero bars and cycle carrier (591 i think). I'd say the appearance is one thing but the bigger difference between the aero and the wing bars is the noise. The aero bars are relatively noisy especially on the motorway but from what I understand the new wing bars are much better!

Kl thanks deffinatly going to look at thule aero and Wing bars there roughly similar price on eBay and deffinatly look at getting 591 bike rack looks the part :D

I've got a set of the OEM Skoda roof bars, which I think were made by Thule anyway.

They clip into the roof gutters so don't sit on the bodywork.

got them thru ebay second hand for £60

The Thule 591 is very good

They are one of the best products I've ever bought very clever, simple and beautiful design. When looking on ebay remember the fittings are exactly the same as the mk1 octavia so I actually got my bars, feet pack and fitting kit for £16 because the seller just listed it as roof bars for mk1 octavia.

Thanks Ben. That's the Octy saloon or estate?

Definitely the saloon but think the estate uses the same fix point fitting. You can put the octavia estate details into the thule site to check but fairly sure the estate is the same.
