Help! Stop paired phone search or help with Nokia settings

Featured Replies

I know this has been touched on just a few times on this and other forums but I'm having the same old problem with my car wanting to pair a phone when none are connected. When I got the car it wasn't an issue then I hit on the bright idea of connecting my PAYG Nokia to the car bluetooth which amazingly went well, the phone book downloaded and everything!

My problem starts when I turned the ignition off, the bluetooth disconnects and my phone recognised its sim again, I get lots of texts from Vodafone telling me "to make sure I can access the internet we are sending your settings by text, depending on your plan, blah blah blah" I then get a reconfiguration text which I have to save.

Due to this being very annoying I decided to turn my bluetooth off, but then the car searches for a phone that it cant see and telling me theres no paired phone. I have read that if you connect the phone and go through the bluetooth menu I can delete my phone out of the car settings, I have done this and there were no other phones that I could see to delete, despite this my car is still trying to pair up with a phone on start up! bloody annoying!!!

Has anyone had any success stopping phone pairing or got any advice on this or alternatively does anyone know if there is a setting within my phone I can change to allow phone pairing without all the text messages that come there after?

Cheers all.

I got these messages when my Nokia C1-01 phone was paired with my MY12. I went into Phone - Settings - Connection, and then changed it to HFP instead of advanced, and it solved the problem.

Hi dippo, silly question, is that setting on your phone? Cheers

No, that's on the car - the Maxidot or whatever the computer's called.

Had a look, could get the settings menu up you mentioned but no option of settings, looks like a trip to the dealer to see if they can cancel it of! Cheers again.
