Recommendations for a Multi Function Inject please

Featured Replies

My trusty HP 3110 has finally given up after 6 or 7 years loyal service - all apart from teh 1st inks used were compatibles and 2 colour nozzles have finally popped their clogs.

Replacement for home use - b/w printing, some photos and a bit of scanning - want it to be wireless and possibly duplex. I have had HP's for many years as the only Epson I had eat ink for breakfast! Reviews of the HP 6510 look OK

Your recommendations would be appreciated

Kodak wireless I use it with macs it's awesome

What's your price range?

At the moment PCW are doing the Canon MG5250 which does Wi-Fi connection + CD, Duplex printing & scanning for ~£80.

If you want something a little better then have a look at Amazon for either of these two Canon MG 6250 @ ~£134, which has a slightly better CIS scanner & screen or if you want something really good & you have the budget go for the MG8250 @ ~£220, this has a CCD scanner, film scanner + everything else the MG6250 has as well.

Just bought the latter + a complete set of inks for £280 after my Pixma 760 ground to a halt after a good 5 years service.

NB: If you have a nectar loyalty card don't forget you can get bonus points by having it registered on the nectar website & then go shopping online, I've just got £10 worth of points out of Amazon with all of the shopping I've done with them recently.

It says that the MG8250 is £500! WTF?

They were fleeced if they paid that sort of money, it's never been that price AFAIA.

This is the suggested retail price given by the makers, "el reg" usually give a link to Amazon for more realistic prices.

Amazon have it listed from £319.99 down to £219.57, depending on the trader.

My MG8250 arrived this morning and it's seriously impressive, the colours are vibrant, text & images are super sharp. Then again for £220 so they should be.

The Wi-Fi connection is reasonably easy to set up with both manual & WPS (push button) should your router support it and the transfer of data between PC's & Printer very quick.

The noise is barely noticeable, apart from the initial start up, which does some clicking.
