PX valuations (again)

Featured Replies

I posted a while back about a way-below PX valuation I'd had for my 2010 1.6 Fabia (£4500) when expected PX would be at least £5500 if not £6000.

We're also changing our 2010 (Dec) VRS. For an R-line Polo 1.2 TSI 105PS. Expected PX was £9300, in fact I've been quoted £10700. Very unexpected. Just goes to show that PX valuations depend on so many things I guess.

Incidentally, when I went elsewhere for a PX on my 1.6 2010 Fabia I got a deal which was £800 better.

And I'm changing the VRS because though it is a pocket rocket the auto box just takes the edge of the enjoyment with the hesitation when moving from a standstill. If it had been manual I'd've kept it.

Apparently hesitation may be a map issue ecu or your driving style, most if not all vrs drivers have no issue with hesitation, PX will differ greatly depending on what your about to purchase,

Lots of variables, just like all Buying & selling.

Like how much you were going to pay for the R-Line Polo, was it Pre September Reg or after. etc etc

'They' dont give away bargains or offer more to buy in than they can gain unless they are selling at a good profit.

Supply and demand really.

Shift what you need to shift and deal as you need to shift it. 'Do not lose money doing it!'

Im very bemused by peoples reporting on hesitation with the VRS as the few times ive had the chance to drive one ive never suffered that issue :/.

Backmon the subject of PX's i was plensently suprised by the amount the dealer offered me for my Corsa 1.3CDTi. 2005

It had no history various issue with bodywork and was generally in a poor condition.

The dealer happily offered £1300 which tbh id sincerly doubt id of got should inof decided to sell privatly.

It was only when inlook at parkers they surgested a part ex price of £2000 so maybe it was fair price all considered. But still more then inexpected a dealer to give. :)
