Vibrating Door Handle

Featured Replies

Afternoon all...

My vRS hasnt arrived yet but i was just thinking about the demo car i had the use of a few weeks back and the one thing that annoyed me about an otherwise awesome car was that with the volume on the stereo at what i would deem a reasonable level the drivers door handle vibrated like it was trying to work loose.

Is this a common problem as the car wasnt that old and seemed in very good condition ??

If it is common how have people gone about damping it / fixing it ? - without just turning the music down ;)

Thanks, Nige

Never heard of it before.

Mine is 5yr old now and doesn't do anything like that.

I had mine in for an annoying vibrating noise and the dealers failed to solve it instead adjusted my bass and treble to bottom settings and claimed to have solved it coming from rear passenger door. I then was outside car one day and noticed it was the handle on outside making the noise I have a thread about it on here somewhere my intention was to just get something like a thin strip of foam to put in where handle rests against door as a stopper. That should work equally for inside handles if that's the issue you have seen. But all being well you wont get this issue on your actual car.

test the new car when it comes before you sign for anything. I heave never heard of this problem either.

There are a few threads on it here. There are thousands of components that can rattle in a car just luck of the draw but all can be addressed if you are lucky enough to locate them.

Thanks for the replies guys... i'll do what was mentioned and try it out before signing for the car... it was possibly just one of those things though.

It was definitely the interior drivers door handle though, if you pressed against it with a finger it stopped vibrating.

The Leon i have at the moment has a passenger rear handle vibration at higher volumes which i've just lived with. The drivers side one is less easy to ignore though ;)

Had to laugh at the mention of the dealer turning all the bass settings down and claiming they'd fixed it though...lol

Thanks, Nige
