9000 miles in a Fabia vRS

Featured Replies

Well, having just clocked up 9000 miles, I thought it about time I did a review. That mileage made me realise that my first diesel (Nova SX TD) would have already had two trips to the dealer for routine servicing yet still another 1000 before my first service.

(Previous car was a W-reg Polo 1.4 SE TDI)

Overall I have to say I

Performance: obviously far better than the Polo. Engine has a much wider power band than the 1.4 (1500-4000 rather than 2000-3500)
I find it better to put my foot down past 2000 rather than 1500...

Never had that problem myself

Agree' date=' sometimes you can miss a whole car

Did yours not come with any? Or do you feel there could be more?

Good write up  Glad to see you like it :)[/quote']

Maybe the water drips thing is just down to the slope I usually park on; with the old Polo, the doors go right to the roof strip where you attach the roof-rack so the drips tended to stay on the door as you opened it (it's late and my brain isn't working, apologies if that makes no sense).

I gather the 2005MY vRS's don't come with rubbing strips on the bumpers, unlike previous ones. New bumper to be fitted before I sell the car, whenever that may be.

Thought I'd miss the nice blue instrument lighting but that hasn't bothered me at all...

I was going to get the Lupo 1.4 TDI at one stage as an alternative, however the lack of boot and 4 seats only is impossible, but I do love the 1.4 PD - so sweet !

nice review
