coil pack failing

  • Author

failing already but they are all new

+1 for a coil pack on its way out. Mine did this before I got them changed under the recall. Did you gap the plugs etc before fitting? Also ince its starts playing does it idle around the 1000 rpm mark instead of 700 rpm like normal?

yep set the plugs and she sits nicly at 700 just dies at 5 but i am off to the parts place tomorrow for another coil

Genuine coils ??

Have you changed the MAF ??

just got back from having her plugged in to the computer and no faults i am starting to think it fuel related and eather the pump or ragulator

Fuel filter is a popular problem

that was changed a week ago

Earth straps on the engine etc ok?

Were the plug gaps set when they were fitted?

  • Author

all earths are fine and yep plugs were set and just ordered a 4 bar perssure regulater should be here friday so we will see

Ive got a spare standard fuel pressure reg if u wanted to try it to see if thats the issue. I see ur only in Coalville which aint a million miles away.

do you think that could be the problem i have wondered because last night itook her down the motorway and when she gets to high revs she backs off then goes then backs off then goes andkeeps doing that which makes me think fuel starvation and it gets worse the higher gear your in i may take you up on the offer if thats ok with you just i wouldnt be able to get over to you till tomorrow as i have managed to get hold of a fuel pump today which is being ripped out the other car as we speak lol
