Video request: Start up and Shutdown

Featured Replies

I feel like there is a lot of play in the engine on start up and shut down.

If someone could video their engine starting up, idling for a few moments then shutting down again i'd be most appreciative.

I think it may be the dog-bone mount at fault, but my mechanic says that all bushings are fine and shouldnt be the issue.

The judders are noticable in the cabin and its starting to get my goat.

Thanks

Niall

Sounds like worn engine mounts to me?? I've just had a all three replaced after 9 years and 123 k miles and they were all knackered ! Car feels sooo much nicer to drive especially in town with stop starting driving plus It feels less woberly on start up and shut down. No video I afraid.

Thats what i'm thinking Mr Rooney!

Hopefully someone will be able to take a video for me, as theres a large shudder on shut down on mine!

The shudder on turning the engine off could be the anti-run on flap not working. Suggest you see if there are any coded on the ECU.

I'd do one but I don't think it'll be much use as I have no anti shudder valve.
