That Skoda website Yeti configerator again!

Featured Replies

Just tried it again and as usual with that poxy tool got me confused.

When through the configurator for a 1.2 DSG Elegance to see if any additional options came up.

All went well till I came to a section with the following 'no charge' options:

Dash storage box with lid.....I thought it came as standard...it does on the SE?

Region???.....No indication what that means even in the 'i' tab.

Curtain airbags....Again I thought the were standard on the Elegance?

So again Skoda like to confuse you...Don't they ever engage brain and test it from

a buyers perspective?

According to the brochures, curtain airbags have been standard on all models for a long time, certainly in all the brochures I've seen, perhaps since launch. So it has no business being in the configurator as an option, cost-free or not.

The brochure has always said that the dash storage box (open), i.e without lid, is standard equipment on the Yeti E, and then it totally fails to mention that there is another version with lid.

As for 'region', that's anybody's guess.

I think you should complain to Skoda UK, both about the configurator and about the brochure. Skoda UK are stuck in the bad old days when Skoda was a joke and the staff presumably had an easy life since nobody actually wanted to buy their stuff. Don't let it put you off the Yeti.

When I was speccing my SE, the configurator said that Erebus wheels were a no cost option, but wise told I couldn't have them.

I assume the dash storage box with lid is standard in the elegance? Or are you saying the non lid version is standard, and you must opt for the lid version regardless of spec?

Based on the way the cars arrive, the box with lid is standard in the Elegance, but the brochure does not even say the box with lid exists, and the configurator says it is a no-cost option.

Who knows what would happen if you de-selected the option in the configurator. Nothing, probably. That is, I guess you'd still get the box with lid on the Elegance. But why should one have to guess?

Perhaps the fake 'options' in the configurator are attempts to remedy the omissions in the brochure.
