IMHO the silver/black/chrome effect is quite nice. Will stick up a picture tomorrow.

Ignore the gille listing where it says it's for a 2008-12 or MKIII Octavia, it's definately MkII Pre-FL. It's not OEM, but for £40 (complete with original logo - in metal) it fitted perfectly. The badge was easily removed (only stick on with a big pad though) but patience was the key.

New badge - remove three little plastic pins (easy snap off) and big sticky pad straight on.

My luck: every single one was the wrong way round on first go!

The interior is now exceptionally well-lit, no "stay on" when car locked either. Thinking of getting a front housing for the back.

Have got a pair of 38mm festoon LEDs on order for the inner puddle lights.

Next I think will be 6000 kelvin HIDs

Possibly. The box it came in was plain brown, with no VAG markings at all, there were no VAG markings on the plastics either (did compare to the original).

For £40 (inc postage) for the whole grille, with metal badge (so none of the falling apart like the old ones) didn't think that was so bad really. The new badge was "just because I could" ;)

How about the rear badge??

The badges should fit the FL. The grille is a different shape though.

The rear badge should be being done at the weekend. (I had the wrong part number at the beginning when I ordered the front.)
