effects of changing offset?

Featured Replies

I have a 4x4 octy that is currently on Standard 16" RIDE alloys with 205/55 tyres. They are 6.5J ET 42 and weigh 40lb each (with Tyres)

what would be the effect of changing to a set of 16" Speedline five spokes with 205/55 tyres. They are 7J ET31 and weigh 37.5lb each (with Tyres)

would they be 5mm further out?

TBH I doubt you'll notice a huge difference from that amount of track width change

Change of rubber will be more noticable

You'll notice the weight difference of the wheel - will feel bit lighter and a bit nimbler

each wheel will sit 11mm further out, but as your keeping the same size tyre you shouldn't notice much difference handling wise, just you may be adding a little extra stress on bearings etc but probably not enough to worry about
