Superb Stereo Steering Wheel Adapter - Help!

Featured Replies

I hope someone can help me - i've posted this under the ICE section with pictures (http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/249135-superb-mk1-steering-wheel-control-adapter-help/), but thought i'd also post in here in case one of you might have come across the same.

I've just installed a Pioneer AVH-4400BT stereo, along with the autoleads steering wheel adapter in my 2004 Superb Comfort 1.9 TDI (non-CANBUS). The issue that i have is that the adapter doesn't pair with wire in the car adapter.

I've spoken to Dynamic Sounds, where i bought the stereo, etc. from and they confirm that the harness is correct for my car, and that they don't have another option - which having looked at the ISO PIN thread, appears to be correct, (Block C2, Pin 11 = Steering wheel control). However my car seems to be different, my wires in the C2 block are Pins 7 & 9, circled in red - although the actual shape of my block appears different, with the 'wings' at the opposite side of the plug. Pictures attached as proof! :) Any advice would be greatfully received, whether there is an adapter available or if the one i have can be modified to work, and if so which pin to hook up to.

did the steering wheel control work with the original radio?

yes it worked fine, spoken to a couple of other specialists and still struggling with the adapter to the car plug- doesn't seem like one exists... :wall: Also, checked on ElsaWin and according to that the plug in the car should be as above. *confused* :S

Hi. Yes that's the one i have. It seems to be the generic VAG layout - still can't find anything on the 'alternative' layout that i have and whether it's the standard Superb layout or an interim layout before the CAN-BUS block plug. :(

Hi. Unfortunately not. No longer have the car, now have a mk2 but had to live without.
