It's arrived at the dealership - fears over trim!

Featured Replies

Hi,

Ordered end of June and arrived at dealers yesterday. Sales guy rung me to go and have a look at it as it has Ivory trim and what with all the threads concering Skoda mucking about with the carpet and side trims (black) the salesman wanted me to see it before we went any further.

Well the carpets are black as well as the "A" and "B" posts and the kickplate door sills. Seats, door panels, centre console, dash sections and rear load cover are Ivory. It sounded like a chess board and I was dreading it as I had expected all trim except the carpets would be Ivory.

As it happens and for what it's worth it give the interior quite a modern feel and thinking about it, black carpets and sills will be more practicable. So breathing a sigh of relief now. Friend of mine has a 2010 model where all the interior is Ivory. Yes it's all balanced but looks a bit serene now to me, I like the zanny look of the revised interior although this will not be everybodys taste.

Due to pick it up next Wednesday.

Elegance Estate, Amethyst Purple, 2.0T FSI DSG. Factory fitted extras - Panoramic Sunroof, Keyless, Heated Windscreen and washers, Privacy glass, Wood Decor, MDI and spare wheel.

Now a happy bunny!

Get the sill trims changed and it WILL look a whole lot better than the chess board. I had mine done, and I've got used to the black carpet. The current spec with black plastic sill covers running up the A & B pillars is bonkers...I reckon the Skoda trim committee that decided the colour were all standing around outside the car looking at it with doors open, when they should have got inside, shut the doors (you know, just like they are when we're driving) and then had a look.

It's not my car but there are some photos of another car that was done in this post that I started last Dec.

Amazingly your spec is very close to mine except for the lump in the front. I have an elegance estate 2.0TDi 170 DSG in Amethyst/Ivory with Panoramic roof, sunset, hill hold control, wood decor, MDI, spare wheel, electric boot, park assist, 3 spoke MFSW with paddles, auto-dimming mirror & mats.

Hi smf1007, thanks for your comments. I will live with it for a while and see how it goes. If I change my mind at least I will have the option to change to Ivory easily. Anyway have run out of money now I have had to pay for the car so will have to wait a while anyway.

How can it be changed `easily`?

How can it be changed `easily`?

Not sure about 'easily' as it took the garage longer than expected to change. However the interior sill trims are just 4 pieces of plastic (part nos in the other topic) that just fit in with clips and possibly a couple of screws.
