LOWERING SPRINGS FOR OCTAVIA VRS (please help)

Featured Replies

I am the owner of an octavia rs 2004 and ive been trying to find lowewring springs for my car for over 2 months now... i have looked on H&R, Eibach, KW, APEX, sites, and catalogues, i have sent emails to all of them, so far nothing... Whenever i find springs they are for every other model of octavia apart from RS, most of them actually say NOT FOR RS!

If someone knows what company makes springs for my car, can you PLEASE! let me know in detail who makes them and the model type! PLEASE! im tired of looking and askin around....

Have you read this article on tuning the Octavia?

Ok, i understand that KW is what i need, so if i was to go to the tuning shop tomorrow with the KW spring cataloge, which exact set of springs would i order, are they jus called variant 3? dont they have a model number or somthin?

If you just after the lowering effect then v.3 might be overkill. What puts you off the v.2's?

Eibach make springs for the Octy Vrs and JBS will supply fit them for you. They can also supply coilovers I believe (dunno what brand tho) ;)

look man, the problem is i know there are alot of springs from alot of producers that will fit the car eventually, but no one specifys in the catalogues that it fits the rs, all im lookin for is to lower my car not neceseraly in front its ok, but in the back its too high, i want the lowest springs possible but at the same time i wana have stability also, now if some1 could specify wat exact springs i need, make+model type... I would appreciate it alot.

I had Eibachs on my RS with Koni dampers, also tried H&R with standard dampers.

They do fit and they are fine.

What are the roads in Romania like? If they are not that smooth I'd fit the H&R as they are more progressive than the Eibach ones, but from personal choice I'd still go Eibach. VW Golf mk IV is the type you want.

roads in romania must be the worse in europe, mayb not the world, but def europe, thers holes everywhere, and new ones keep poppin up on a daily basis, u have to watch out, about 3 months ago i bent my 17" stock rs rim, had to switch it with the reserve in the back, its pretty bad here... im not from romania though, student here, im from Greece, roads much better there, more civilised asphalt u could say...

anyway u said eibach from golf will do fine, i was reading some posts from the other boys that if i use springs from golf i will end up destroying them in a short while coz the weight of the cars is different, in any case if ur sayin that u put them on ur car and had no problems, then i guess thats wat il get...

Any other options..?

I destroyed Koni Golf dampers on mine, but the springs were fine. The weight seemed to have more impact on the dampers, especially at the rear. I think the Octavia carries the bulk of its extra weight over the rear (about 50kg more than the Golf) which is probably why I kept blowing dampers.

There are a few of the Greek Skoda owners here on the board, they may be able to give you better advice on what is most suitable for the greek roads. Hey, I think there is even a few Romanians on here too - depends where your car is, where you are going to tune it and where you do most of your driving. If it's fro Romania, leave it standard, for Greece, lower it.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

u destroyed the dampers? man thats wat im talkin bout, thers always sum lil problem, i mean y is it so hard to find springs for this car, there must be sum guy that has put springs with no problems and lowerd the car... i have been offered adjustable suspension back and front as a solution, but that comes to 1000+ euro and another adjustable kit with only the front being adjustable and the back jus low from JR for 550 euro... too much money! man i jus want some lowering springs that will work!!! some1 plz! tell me!!!!

The Eibach springs were fine with the standard dampers, they were crap with the Konis, don't know why though .

So finally what springs do i get? eibach, ok, which eibach? eibach doesnt even make for octavia... eibach for golf?

i believe the reason that no one has made lowering springs for a vrs is that due to its suspension setup they produce a very bouncy and poor quality ride... at least that is what i heard. i believe the jbs eibach springs are vw jetta/bora ones last time i looked which may be more suitable then mkiv ones.

I have KW Variant 2 on my Octy vRS, I am not sure of the part number though.
