There's a handy guide on here, in this section.

Basically coil packs (which should have been sorted via a recall), and knocks from the front ARB are quite common, but easy to fix.

Depending on your price range etc, I've got one for sale: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/248186-200505-mk1-octavia-vrs-corrida-red-fsh-low-miles/

Hi babs

That looks a very nice car but out of my price range ??

Have £2500 max to spend, what was the recall on the

Coil packs for? I am a senior technician in a ford dealer

So very handy with a spanner, so arb bushes shouldn't

Be a issue. Thanks for the advice

Cheers

Causing misfires - they were replaced with a different type, which seem to be doing the job! When you get the car, call your local dealer to see if it's been done.

Never had any problems with mine in 10k ownership! I bought a low owner low mileage car

Best bang for buck is £150 remap at r-tech

Stock suspension is also wooly and uninspiring. So i opted for kw coilovers and powerflex dog bone engine mount. Car is transformed.

Also running a front mount intercooler

Well I have had 5 years of ownership in mine and thought it would only last a year max.

Coming from lots of scoobys and faster cars the VRS still ticks more boxes for me.

here is the buyers guide

http://www.briskoda....de-please-read/

They are very reliable cars have teh same chasis as the Audi TT/A3/S3 and LCR and MK4 Golfs so lots of comon parts to exchange replace and even std parts can be purchased in either dealers.

I considered other VAG cars but the VRS ticks more of those boxes for me again.

I also thought that tuning and performance upgrades would be low on these cars, but oh was I wrong so over 4 years have transformed mine
