Main dealer price shock!

Featured Replies

Rang up Warrington Skoda yesterday to get a price on a new Roomster to possibly replace my van shortly, and they actually beat (without prompting and trying to knock their prices down) all the internet and so called cheap deal suppliers.

What is going on?

Probably just hit lucky and they are just needing that one more sale to move them into the next manufacture discount bracket.

It is the way it should be.

If you can go in and buy the vehicle now at the price from stock or place an order and get it at that price then great.

(ask if they will honour the offer untill the end of the month, to place the deposit or buy.)

Call in & sit at the desk, accept the coffee, chat about your holiday and make friends with the salesperson they will be happy to,

& then get it written down or Printed out, On The Road price,

(do not shake their hand when they say, 'Will you order today', just look straight at them and say,

'sorry, i will need to go and check eleswhere'.)

or

just Email & ask for the conformation of the Price to you, to be sent back.

Then maybe try & go someplace else and see if they can undercut that price you have been offered in a like for like deal.

No one wants a Roomster!?

Crossed my mind too tbh.

Not exactly the prettiest thing on the road ey?

Functional though. Just wish they imported the van version.

Same here. The ford connect I have at the moment is the worse van I ever had. Uncomfortable, noisy, vibrations, there are days when I driven 6 to 8 hours and absolutely more drained compared when I used to drive from Wales to northern Ireland in the fabia. But they won't bring it to the uk as it will knock the VW caddy sales big time. Pity as I can see it be a cracking little van

I had a silver 2008 Roomster Scout 1.9TDi as a courtesy car once (from DM Keith in Leeds).

I really enjoyed driving it actually.

The problem was I like to look back and admire my car as I work into work and the Roomster just doesn't do it for me.

When I see them on the road I actually have admiration for their drivers as they've been brave enough to buy one!

Sounds a bit vain really, but I take the point.

It is a bit of munter in the looks dept.

Can't be any worse than the comments I already get with the Combo though...I've had them all, but would dearly love to be in something that stops all the sarcasm, as it's got very wearing after 3 years, even though it's claimed to be "only banter".

Shame really as it has actually been a very good versatile van (crew cab with acres of space for back seat passengers) and I'd have another one at the drop of a hat with the bullet proof non dpf 1.7 Isuzu lump fitted,, only they've stopped making them and replaced it with the truly gross looking overly fat Fiat Doblo with a Vauxhall badge.

Going to check out the Kangoo crew cab van, but that's no oil painting either.

Want something for work and a bit of leisure that's going to do well over 50mpg, but that's proving very difficult.

Roomster is in pole position currently still....agggghhh! :giggle:

I'm actually pretty close to buying a Roomster. 1.2 TSI w/ DSG. But the with the rapid around the corner... I hope the Rapid has a Diesel/DSG combo. Rubbish that the Roomster doesn't..

If you just need Economy, Purchase price, Space then a Passenger version, not a van,

in a

Bipper/Qubo/Nemo.

Or Traction Plus with a Qubo Trekker.

Could go basic & get Black non painter Bumpers.

You can get Privacy rear glass with Lift hach rear, or twin rear doors.

Pre Euro 5 to get no PDF & the 1.4 desiel before they became 1.3

loads to choose from & ex mobility etc. 'Much cheapness'.

95 bhp ones not worth going for IMO, unless you need to tow.

Sorry for the spelling, Hungarian Keyboard and i should have gone to Specsavers.

Saying that about eyesight,,

when in a vehicle you do not see the outside unless looking at yourself in big shop windows.

Can you just run that past me again please?

Do you mean you do or do not want DSG?

I've had one as a courtesy car too. Perfectly ok to drive but I did feel like I was sat on a kitchen stool in a mobile shed. All very roomy cars feel somewhat shed-like to me. If practicality counts above everything else I could understand the appeal.

I've started looking at the Fabia and Octy estates now too, just to add to the confusion and bewilderment of whjat to do . :wall:

BIG service due in just a few weeks, so I need to make my mind up pronto.

Really want Skoda again tbh. Damn them for not importing the Romster van..

Looked at the Fiat and PSA equivalent vans/car derivatives.

Not too sure about them, and I've heard that the 1.3 Fiat engine is a bit of a dog that eats turbo's?

I want, actually need, a DSG due to a motorbike accident. But I also want a diesel. Only that combo is impossible with the Roomster. I'm hoping it isnt with the Rapid.

Yes, I guess I must be.

The way a car looks (and how it is percieved by others) is quite important to me.
