Blackvue Recordings

Featured Replies

Can anyone help me with making my 1 minute recordings off the Blackvue into a continuous video that can be shown on YouTube please??

I've googled and tried Windows Live Movie Maker as someone has suggested on one forum but when i upload all the clips, i just get a load of boxes with red crosses in the middle of them.

Any suggestions please??

I use Video Pad Video Editor.

You need to add all the clips to the project and remove the 4 to 5 second overlap.

It doesn't take long once you are used to it.

Any software that does the same should be fine.

Cheers, i'll give that a try.

From the looks of it, there isn't any overlap and it should all piece together nicely, unless the video editor adds that on. Playing from the memory card doesn't show an overlap, just a slight freeze and continue onto the next.

The blackvue software shows no overlap because it allows for it, but when viewed as video clips it's usally around 4 or 5 seconds.

It's in case you have an accident on the join of two clips.

Unless then new 400 HD is different of course. :)

Once you get the clips into the video editor you can see what needs doing.

Managed to save a video using the program you suggested but it came out quite jumpy. I'd only selected 30fps, so will try again tomorrow as i think the Blackvue was actually filming around 59fps.

Will see how i get on when i try again.

I always convert mine to 25fps.

If it's still jumpy try uploading a small clip to youtube, just in case it's your computer playback and not the clip itself.

I'll give both of those suggestions a try as well.

Okay, i've come across another problem now. After having the Blackvue for about 3 weeks, i found the video was getting quite jumpy, so decided to format the SD card last night. After doing some recording today, the video is still quite jumpy, any suggestions???

what firmware are you running?

also can't you change the driving clips to 3 mins?

some people have downgraded to an earlier firmware and got better results

Hi Richard,

Downloaded 'Video Pad Video Editor'

Added three clips

Played a preview

No editing required - viewed the three clips as a continuous clip with no overlap.

Really couldn't be simpler than that - haven't even read the instructions yet to see how to do it! I wish all software was this straightforward. Just thought I'd give it a whiz this morning before I head up into the fields to help my son to fencing and dry stone walling on his land on this cloudless sunny day.

I wish I'd got the 500 now cos I've thought of several instances of where it would be incredibly useful - maybe when I get one for SWMBO

"Ask a tech" is for car mechanic type questions. I've moved this to the technology shed forum. :)

PS: Download latest Windows Live with Movie Maker 2 included. Works fine for me then.

If an event is detected (G sensor) you get a 4 or 5 second overlap on the clips, so you have to trim this off.

Not sure if anyone can help with this but i was just going through my latest recordings and it keeps switching to the next clip after 35 seconds out of 60, so i miss the last 25 seconds unless i click about 30 seconds in, then it will play through to the end.

Any ideas how to fix it so the playback is the full 60 seconds??

I had this too. I never managed to diagnose or fix it but...using my work PC solved the problem!

Having another problem with my Blackvue 300 now. When i watch the clips via the Blackvue card reader, i get sound all the way through but when i save and add the files into VideoPad Video Editor, i only get sound for the first 30 seconds.

Anyone have any clues why this is happening??

Is it just with the video editor? Have you tried watching it through windows media player or VLC?
