End of an era..... very sad day.....

Featured Replies

Well guys, it's been on the cards for a long time now, and the few on here (well, Des really) who have had proper heavily modified vRS's will understand why this has happened, but the vRS has been sold - don’t ask for how much, other than I was very happy with what I was received.

Having owned the car from new (52 plate) and been a member of this forum since 2003 I can honestly say it has been the best car I have ever owned - or likely to own, certainly in terms of performance and reverse snobbery factor!

This forum has been a lifeline for me on many occasions and is a credit to all of the thoroughly decent members on here. Briskoda.net has saved me £££ on running repairs, but equally has also made me spend well over £20k on modifications....would I do things differently, no, it's been a laugh throughout my 20's, however as some of you may know I am now a daddy and I need something more cost effective (especially as I now live out in the country miles from my place of work).

My wife’s 4x4 (Kia Sorento) is being swapped for a tdv8 Range Rover Sport as the family/tow car and the small run about is going to be a mk2 Fabia Monte Carlo 105ps 1.6crdi (red - fastest colour apparently??..) which arrives late October, between these two vehicles we actually save money over our current two!...crazy stuff!!

This isn't goodbye as I will still be floating around on Brisky (Fabia II forum mostly), but wanted to post a thread to say thank you to everyone who has helped me or given me advice over the last 9 years.

Thanks again everyone.

Steve :)

Awww, I hope you took some goodbye pics for posterity...

Steve, sorry too hear, all good things must end though.

Stick around, you know your stuff

Cryin shame mate.

I am sure she will live on tho.........

In some form or others

Nice you stickin around tho.

Billy

A moments silence is called for.

Still a R/Rover Sport cool, you could do a lot worse.

They are great cars.

Good luck

I bet you're sad to see it go, that car was a monster performance-wise. I hope the new owner keeps it and enjoys it.

im sure the new owner will make it better

im sure the new owner will make it better

Mmmmm

;)

another sad day for a great car.

all the best Steve on you fabia ownership(nice car the monte carlo)

I wonder who owns that octy now..............................Clive...

Lol he must be starting a collection?

yeah starting a collection of parts ;-) lol

yes i now own it but it was brought to do 2 jobs so things are/will be changing

there are a few bits that will 100% need changing as soe parts items are no where near the spec they should be but overall its an awesome car just need some work to make it much better and get the tubby working as it should with early spool and more power !!

again its funny that people spend so much money with big tuners yet the big tuners miss the inportant bits that make the car complete seems like unless it bolts on and cost the earth they do want to fit them !!!

p.s the car is amazing on fuel economy SHOCKED !!!!
