Abs and red flashing light on

Featured Replies

Hi.

About 2 weeks ago the abs and esp light came on in my 07 elegance 1.9 tdi and I was starting to worry that its going to be the abs pump, yesterday while I was driving it the red handbrake warning light started to flash and beeps 3 times, I checked the brake fluid level and its full. Took the car for a scan today and it came with 3 codes:

00668 Supply voltage

00290 ABS sensor rear left mechanical malfunction

00287 ABS sensor rear right mechanical malfunction

The guy in the garage said that it could be a wheel bearing but I think I might try with the sensors first as I think it shouldn’t cost me to much and I could do it probably myself.

Any idea why the red flashing light comes on now with 3 beeps? Will it be related to the fault with the sensors or will it be something totally different?

Thanks for any advice

Had this on a 2001 Seat Toledo.

Check the suspect sensor wiring for breaks.

Also remove the sensors and clean the face of them. This sorted it for me.

Cost = Zero.

Hi we are having the same problem with our Octavia 1.9 Ambient (02), with the flashing handbrake light and beeping. Seen on here from previous posts that it could be the brake fluid but cant see where or how to check the brake fluid and refill if needs be when looking under the bonnet... can anyone help...? Is it okay to drive with this problem..?
