Rear speaker fitting 5 door

Featured Replies

I have seen the VW Up guide on here for adding speakers to the 3dr. Does anyone know what speaker sizes would be required to DIY on a 5 door. I think that you could fit relatively cheap speakers / add soundproofing for not much more than the entertainment pack upgrade and achieve better results without going OTT.

What speakers have 5dr owners looked at fitting themselves, particularly in the rear doors ?

Just out of interest if you did not spec the entertainment pack when ordering would the rear doors even have the speaker wires in them going to the head unit ? If not then its a load of hassle to be taking the car apart not one day after having it new on the drive !

I think the Entertainment pack is not bad value for money really, as you get 4 extra speakers. Not just the rears, but 2 in the 'A' pillar as well.

For £100 that's pretty good going.

A decent pair of rear speakers must cost £20-30 at least then there is all the hassle of dismantling the car to fit them.

Heaven knows how you would go about fitting some in the windscreen pillar's

And don't forget, for what it's worth you also get the multi media holder for the centre console in with the £100.

I thought it was good value to have it put in on my spec list. I don't know whether the speaker wires are in as standard or not, not got the car yet!.

No speaker wires in with rear speaker 6" speakers are what you need easy to take off the door covers they just clip off and can be eased with your fingers. I did the rear myself on the 3 door but had a professional connect to raio because of the PID unit.
