ra1nb1rd's fabia vrs 'estate'

Featured Replies

hi there

ive been lurking for a while since ive owned the car for a few weeks now and i constantly seem to have a massive smile on my face.

everyone knows the history of the car etc so im not gonna go in to to much detail etc

my plan is to further tweak what i already have.

on the way home from picking her up, to say my mate in his 240bhp anniversary had a bit of a shock was an understatement

my plans are as follows

  • a change of wheels, possibly 17" spiders or if i can find a set of team dynamics pro race 1.2's

  • change of exhaust, its booked in next wednesday for a straight through system with twin round tailpipes, am still gonna keep the blueflame exhaust for the future :)

  • im also gonna look into having the map looked at, as it comes onto boost anything over half throttle it smokes quite a bit, not as bad as some ive seen etc

  • gonna redye the leather to make it look smart again before the pigment wears to bad

  • have the windows tinted

today my flye eye kit arrived so i set about applying this to the lights

im unsure on the back lights atm i may adjust them so its only the clear parts thats smoked.

and tomorrows job is to unseive the front coilovers and wind them down a few turns

cheers ian

Cheers mate

Got few lil niggles but nothing major :D latest being a dragging front caliper which will be easily sorted

Good buy there mate. Stunning motor. Really love how the estates look with the vrs styling

have you thought of removing/ colour coding the side strips? I think that would look spot on

this look nuts! like

  • Author

Ive thought about removing the strips but im abit worried about the paint underneath

But first of need to sort out why the brakes feel like the abs is cutting in when it isnt and the pedal is quite solid at times

The paint isn't brilliant under the side strips. But they are smoothed and painted gloss black to fit in with the whole monochrome look.

Ahh I see. Couldn't quite tell from the pics, but I'm sure it's great :-)

Not looking so good there!

But cool estate none the less!

What have you done to the poor thing?

Nothing bad i promise, it blew the boost pipe of so decided to take it all apart and clean and reseal them,

Also gave the intercooler a blow over of black paint to make it more suttle

very nice this.

I would have to put standard rear light on, just to add a bit of colour.

I removed the flyeye from the red part of the light as it didnt look right,

have had a nightmare today trying to get the right oil filter in the end turns out it is using a mk4 gt tdi oil filter setup,

It's using a mk4 golf engine that's why.

thatll be why then i had a nose through the history and theres so much of it got kinda confused and just went down to my local spares place and luckily one of the guys there is a fellow VAG fan and he sorted it all out for me :)

in good news though its starting to resemble a fabia vrs again :D
