thermostat?

Featured Replies

Hi wondered if any of you could help, the temp on my mk1 Octavia vrs only reads 80 while stationary and about 70 while driving. Have had code 17704 but changed the CTS about 3 months ago (a genuine one) could the stat be at fault? Cheers guys

Sound like you need a new one :)

Had the same running temps with mine mate and a new stat sorted it out sits at 90 all day long. Buy a genuine vag one though.

Cheers people, now have a new genuine stat and should hopefully fit it after work, thanks again

New sealing ring too ?

I used some long quarter inch drive bars with universal joints. Plus get some coolant at the ready as youll lose some or quite a bit depending on how fast you are. Its a fiddly job.

Very fiddly job. I had the garage do mine while she was in for a cambelt change. Be carefull around the orange dipstick tube as they break very easily. Good luck.

+1 for the fiddly job. good luck
