Rear middle brake light

Featured Replies

My rear middle brake light has a lot of dust and flies caught inside and I just like to know how I get inside to clean it?

Dan, if you take a look in the 'Octavia I' forum and do a search for 'high level brake light' it throws up lots of similar threads.

The plastic cover that is accessed from inside the car is unclipped at either end and removed, this should allow you to gain access for cleaning.

The Octavia MkI hatch uses a row of replacable 2.3W bulbs so it is designed to be easily accessed if they need replacing.

I think the later MkI's (and all MkI estates) use LED's instead so access might be more difficult as these are designed to be swapped out as a complete unit if they fail.
