I sometimes surprise myself just how thick I am

I'll certainly give it a bash when I do `the works`...Wash > Clay > Polish > Seal, coz I'm told that claying and polishing will remove water marks. But I'm still very concerned when I'm just gonna give it a wash because of the extra time taken and not being able to dry the car quickly enough to prevent the water marks.

As already said...Spray QD in one hand drying towel in the other

You wont get any watermarks guaranteed

Work quickly and never in the sun if you live in a hard water area

Thanks, Chris.

Another option is to put on a sealant like Gtechniq Exo or Wolf Hard Body and you get so much beading that its easy to get round car and dry in time.

Really impressed by Exo on mine. Put it on mine two months ago, and washed for first time at the weekend (ooopps!) really easy to wash and dry for that matter.

Cheers

Steve

Hi, Chris

Well...Did my car this afternoon. Weather was perfect, cool and overcast, no sun. Started with a pressure rinse followed by a snow foaming. Pressure rinsed again and then washed the car with the 2BM, and pressure rinsed again. It took me a bit longer to dry the car, panel by panel with, as you suggested, the aid of a QD spray, but not much, about 15 mins. The result? Car covered in water marks, and I do mean ALL the car...even the first panel dried (the roof). I went around the car again with a dry drying towel and with a fair bit of pressure I managed to get most of the marks off. I worry that all this extra pressure will remove some of the protection already there. I guess the only way I'm going to do this properly is to polish it each time with AGSRP. Something I didn't expect to notice was the colour of the tyres. They are quite grey, and the car is only 10 weeks old. I'll give it a dressing tomorrow. The other thing I noticed was how well the `Chemical Guys Wheel Guard` is working. I just had to wipe the alloys down with a damp cloth and then dry. Very impressive.

Regards.

Mike.

I really dont know what to suggest

A good layer of protection? ...Wax is my prefered LSP (Last Stage Product) should help..AGSRP is not really good enough on its own

Ive never had the water mark problem that you experience

I'm at a loss to suggest a line of attack

I'll do some research and get back to you

Hi, Chris.

Thanks for this.

I should have said...I was going to use the AGSRP to remove the water marks and then add a coat of AG Extra Gloss Protection. That will do the trick wont it?

Solution for you:

http://www.polishedb...lters-cat5.html

Just attach to you hose and give the car a final rinse..Result!!

No water marks!!!

Chris

Yeah, I had looked into this but ruled it out on cost grounds. It would need replacing quite regularly.

Thank you so much for your time on this, Chris.

Regards.

Mike.

Have you got room to fit a water vat? Rain water won't have the same watermark issues, and depending on type you can run a lot of pressure washers from a vat.

Thank you for your suggestion, Steve. All in all I think I'm going to polish after each wash so I can just take my time and forget about the marks.

Regards.

Mike.
